Tehran has accepted Pakistan’s two-week ceasefire proposal, with the agreement receiving approval from Iran’s new supreme leader.
However, Iranian officials clarified that engaging in talks does not equate to ending the conflict. They emphasised that a permanent conclusion depends on their 10-point plan, which demands the removal of all sanctions, full financial compensation, and the release of frozen assets. According to Iranian media, final negotiations to address these details are scheduled to take place in Islamabad on Friday, April 10th.
Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi posted the Islamic Republic's response on X and said that Iran would cease its military operations if the country does not come under attack.
Meanwhile, the Islamic Republic of Iran has suspended the passage of ships through the Strait of Hormuz after Israel continued its strike against Hezbollah in Lebanon, with Netanyahu clarifying that its operations in the country does not come under the ambit of the Iran peace deal.
The IRGC has warned that it would pull out of the ceasefire agreement if Israel does not halt its military operations in Lebanon. Meanwhile, Trump has stated that it may end up with some kind of a joint venture with Iran, to levy toll charges on ships passing through Hormuz.
